Carla Elizabeth Lowe Howell was born October 19, 1967, in Panama, Ancon Canal Zone. She was the beloved daughter of Carlos and Gladys Lowe. She departed this life on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Carla attended the public schools of Richland County. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1986. She attended Mansfield College in Columbia, SC with a study in typing and graduated 1988. She worked for several years with Barton Security at Baptist Hospital. She later transferred to Hospital Administration at Baptist Hospital where she remained for 26 years. On September 18, 2010, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Christopher Howell.
Carla accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was a member of a parish in Panama. Once she relocated to Columbia, SC, she became a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church. She was a member of the motorcycle club "2nd Look Riders". Carla also enjoyed crafting, advising her friends and family, and being a prayer partner for and with many.
Carla was preceded in death by her maternal and parental grandparents; and her brother, Javier McCarthy of Panama.
Carla leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Christopher Howell; her children: Christopher (Sauntia) Lowe of Houston, TX; Nilka (Deunte) Lowe Mangham of Fayetteville, NC; and Billante (Shanice) Lowe of Hinesville, GA; her grandchildren, Labria, Londyn, Xander, Christopher Jr. and William Lowe; her parents, Carlos and Gladys Lowe of Columbia, SC; brothers, Daniel Lowe of Panama, Carlos Lowe of Columbia, SC; Roberto (Barbara) Lowe of Charlotte, NC; Cecilio (Barbara) Lowe of Augusta, GA; Carlo and Gabriel Lowe both of Columbia, SC; her sister; Jamilka Pitalua of Panama; a special nephew, Roberto "Tony" Clemmons; special aunt, Melvina Hallaman; two bonus children,Kaila Wilson and William Wilson V; and two dear friends, Melanie Johnson and Malinda Young; her Godson, Sterling "Ty-Reese" Kessler; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends all of whom will dearly miss her.
