Carla Ann McPherson

AUGUSTA - Carla Ann McPherson, 64, of Augusta passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born to Carl and Laurette (Grondin) Knox on December 30, 1960. Carla graduated from Cony High School Class of 1979.

Carla was always on the go and full of life. She was a champion on a national level in baton and a majorette on the High School Drill Team. She would practice outside and all the neighbors would watch in awe.

She always had respect for elders in our community and was helpful to a couple of elderly people that lived in our neighborhood. She maintained the same compassion in all activities she was involved in: her family, gardening, crafting, even home ownership. Carla always worked very hard to achieve her goals and to be the best at whatever she put her mind to.

Carla's career path took her from CMP, State Government to entrepreneurial ventures.

As medical conditions and debilitating circumstances took hold, we watched Carla become an almost unrecognizable version of the person she once was. Please remember her as she was before the hardships came, when life was light and carefree.

She was predeceased by her father, Carl L. Knox; brother, Randall "Randy" Knox and infant grandson, Landon McPherson.

Carla leaves behind two sons, Christopher "Chris" McPherson and Anthony "Tony" McPherson and his wife Erika; grandchildren, Jackson "Jack" and Lacey; brother, David Knox and his fiancé Katrina Guptill; and her mother, Laurette (Grondin) Knox.

Carla also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Maine General for the loving care given to Carla. They were wonderful and compassionate throughout her time there.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00am on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Augusta. Interment will take place in the spring.
