Carla Sphar Obituary
Carla Mae Sphar, 86, formerly of East Moline, passed away March 14, 2025, at Overlook Village, Moline.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at McHenry County Memorial Park at a later date, Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.
Carla was born May 1, 1938, in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Carl A. And Mabel (Carlson) Munson. She married John L. Sphar on October 12, 1957, in Crystal Lake, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1998. Carla had worked in marketing at the Chevrolet Motor Division, retiring in 1995. She loved traveling, reading, and decorating her home.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Brian) Mix; granddaughters Lesley (Chris) Fox, Jessica (Clayton) Brown, Andrea (Doug) Gray, Amanda Mix, Heather (Derrick) Roffman; brother, John (Mary) Munson; sister, Linnea Becker, sister, Janet L. Heidorn; 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Doreen Wilshusen.
