Carliner "Lyte" Murray

UTICA – Carliner "Lyte" Murray, 66, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 29, 1959, Carliner was the daughter of the late Luemetcher Murray. She remained in Brooklyn until her 30s, when she relocated to the Utica area, a place she has proudly called home ever since.

At one time, she shared a loving relationship with the late Clyde Elton English, and from that relationship came the blessing of her "three flowers." A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her life revolved around her family. She also held a deep belief in her loving God, a faith that guided and strengthened her throughout her life.

Lyte had a vibrant personality and was known for always keeping it real. If she didn't like something, she addressed it. In her free time, she enjoyed bingo and playing cards-and she played to win. She was no quitter. She could also often be found listening to her favorite music, especially Celine Dion, or relaxing with a good movie.

Carliner is survived by her children, Luemetcher "Pepsi" Murray, and twins Sharee P. C. Murray, and Shareef P. C. Murray; grandchildren, Ke'Ron Gordon, Anay'se Burden, Ce'Don Burden; Akiyyah Toni Beard, Tre' McCray, Skai McCray; and Taj Odea Smith; great-grandchild, Passim Gordon; and sister, Kollock Jeanie Murray. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; two aunts, Mag, and Sister; and a host of cousins, especially acknowledging Pauline, Destiny, and Ducky. She will be lovingly remembered by her best friends, Trish Green, Flaka, and Kaco.

In keeping with Carliner's wishes, the family will honor her life privately. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., Utica, on the corner of Hammond Ave.
