Carlo Interrante, 95, of Chicago passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with heart disease. Carlo was born on September 12, 1928 to Sam and Maria Interrante. A lifelong Chicago resident, Carlo attended Waller High School and worked for the Chicago Park district for over 30 years as a zoo keeper at Lincoln Park and Indian Boundary Zoos.
Carlo was an avid bowler, golfer, enjoyed 50 years of family vacations in Door County Wisconsin, lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, an usher for many years at Queen of All Saints Basilica, a master video poker player and dedicated scratcher of lotto cards. Carlo is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years Marie nee Lala; four generations of nieces and nephews; their wonderful caregiver Ermie; and countless friends and neighbors.
Carlo was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Lena Montalbano, twin brother Sam and his youngest brother Mike. Marie's Family, Joe and Virginia Lala, Frank and DeAnna Lala,Tom and Josephine (Lala) Kelley and Fred and Sadie (Lala) Vitale.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 4-7pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. Mass will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10am at Queen of All Saints Basilica 6280 N Sauganash Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carlo's name would be appreciated towards Misericordia.
