Carlos “Cai” Anahory, a longtime resident of Stoughton, age 81, passed away on November 8, 2024 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the devoted husband to Ernestine (Rosa) Anahory for 43 loving years. Born in Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Mario Anahory and Benvinda Anahory. Carlos spent his career working as a manager at Eastern Steel Rack Company out of Dorchester for many years before retiring. He enjoyed golfing, watching his favorite soccer team, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons, and loved listening to his many playlists of Cape Verdean music.
In addition to his dear wife Ernestine, Carlos is survived by his children Roberto Anahory of Stoughton, Carlos Anahory, Jr. of Stoughton, and Sheila Carter and her husband Dennis of Stoughton. He was the “Papa” to Dylan, Drew and Bryce Carter, and Ian Anahory. He also leaves behind his siblings, Fatima Leitao of Quincy, Maria Nunes of Whitman, and was preceded in death by his brother Adelino Anahory.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Thursday November 14th from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held the next day, Friday November 15th at 9:15 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carlos’ memory may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in honor of his son, Carlos Anahory Jr., at https://donate.cerebralpalsyfoundation.org/give/95593/#!/donation/checkout.
