Carlos Ray Herring, Sr. age 80 of Burlington, KY died Sunday, February 4th, 2024. Born on September 29th, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Virgil Kennedy Herring and Grace Mildred Cuzick.
Carlos retired in 2006 after forty-four years of devoted service to the Kroger Manufacturing Plant in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Carlos was a multifaceted man. You name it he could fix it, whether it was rebuilding an engine, remodeling a home or just helping set up his wife’s yard sales. He also loved the solitude of nature whether it was being outdoors on his bass boat fishing or camping at Kentucky Lake in his RV.
He was a man of few words, but when he spoke he had something to say. His greatest passions were watching the Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR on TV, and loved going to both the Florence and Kentucky Speedways.
Carlos was preceded in death by his daughter's Linda Jean Herring (2003) and Deborah Lynn Smith (2013). Sisters Mary Campbell, Wanda Sturgil, Betty Herring and brother, Nelson Herring.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia “Cyndi” (Renner) Herring whom he married on Oct 4th, 1997. Son Carlos Jr. (Leah) Herring, and step-daughter Krista (Shawn) Scott. Grandchildren, Daniel (Melissa) Herring, Chris (Amberdawn) Herring, Savannah (Ricky) Noel, Ava, Brayden, Drew and Ethan Scott. Great Grandchildren, Kimberlyn, Nathan, and Brayden Herring, Logan and Rowan Noel, Rayne, Kimbrielle, Caspian and Tidus Herring. A brother Robert Herring of Las Cruces, NM.
Visitation and burial will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation to celebrate Carlos’ life will be held on Friday, February 9th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be held the following morning on Saturday the 10th at 10:30 a.m. The funeral home is located at 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd. Taylor Mill, KY 41015.
