Carlos Alberto Retana was born on March 28th, 2006, in Brighton, CO to Juan Retana and Gloria Ojeda. He was raised in Hudson, CO, surrounded by family and friends. He attended Hudson Elementary and went on to attend Weld Central Middle School. This December he would have graduated from Brighton Heritage Academy with his high school diploma.
Carlos was a social butterfly. He was full of life and smiles, leaving a mark on every soul he touched. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always full of jokes and wanted to make sure you were smiling.
Beto loved hiking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He loved soccer and was an avid car fan. Quiet and peaceful days were his favorite, but he also loved music, dancing, and having a good time. He loved playing video games and when he had a chance never passed up an opportunity to get on a roller coaster.
Carlos was full of life and excited for his future. He aspired to become a truck driver and eventually start his own trucking business although, his mom and aunts thought he would have made a phenomenal nurse. He had big dreams of traveling around the world and eventually having a family.
He is survived by his father, Juan Retana, and his mother Gloria Ojeda; along with five siblings, Angel, Kendra, Mateo, Daniel, and Julian. He is also survived by his grandparents Carlos and Dora Ojeda, Faustino and Yolanda Retana, as well as his loving aunts, and many other family and friends.
Carlos was called to heaven on August 11th, 2024.
Carlos Alberto Retana nació el 28 de marzo del 2006 en Brighton, CO. Hijo de Juan Retana y Gloria Ojeda; hijo mayor de ambos. Carlos creció en Hudson, CO donde fue a primaria a Hudson Elementary y después a la secundaria a Weld Central High School. Este diciembre se hubiera graduado de prepa de Brighton Heritage Academy.
Carlos era muy social y tenía muchos amigos. Estaba lleno de vida y de sonrisas, dejando una huella en cada persona que lo conocía. Tenia un buen sentido del humor y siempre hacia chistes y se aseguraba de que los que lo rodeaban sonrieran.
A Beto le encantaba escalar, pescar, y pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Le gustaba el futbol soccer y era un fanático de carros. Los días callados y tranquilos eran sus favoritos, pero también le gustaba la música, bailar, y tener un buen tiempo. Le gustaba jugar video juegos y nunca dejaba pasar una oportunidad para subirse en una montaña rusa.
Carlos estaba lleno de ilusiones para su futuro. El aspiraba ser un trailero y eventualmente tener su propio negocio de camiones, aunque su mama y tías piensan que hubiera sido un excelente enfermero. Tenía grandes sueños de viajar por todo el mundo y de tener su propia familia.
Carlos es recordado por su papa Juan Retana, y su madre Gloria Ojeda, al igual que sus hermanos Angel, Kendra, Mateo, Daniel, y Julian. También es recordado por sus abuelos Carlos y Dora Ojeda, Faustino y Yolanda Retana, sus tías, y muchos familiares y amigos.
