Carlos Mikell "Carl" Small, 80, went to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ,
on November 7, 2025. He was born on August 12, 1945, to the late Allie Lee Small
and Mattie Elmore Small in Georgetown, SC. He was preceded in death by his
beloved wife, Abby Fisher Small.
He is survived by his daughters, Tracey (David) Howle and Shannan (Ricky)
Rucker, both of Georgetown, SC; his cherished grandchildren, Lucas Howle,
Rachel Rucker, and Matthew Rucker; his three sisters, DeEtte Morgan, Judy Lambert, and Wanda (Bob) Salvatore; one brother, Allie Small, Jr.; and several special nieces and nephews.
Carl proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. After
his active-duty service in the Philippines during the Vietnam War, he returned home and graduated from the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He had a successful career as a Senior
Computer Systems Analyst at Georgetown Steel Corporation, where he later retired
with 33 years of service.
Carl will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, strong work ethic, and nice sense of humor. He will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service with US Air Force Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the
Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, with his nephew, Rev. Tim Lambert officiating and his niece, Rev. Cheryl Lambert ministering with music.
