Carma E. Barker, born on January 28, 1963, Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on February 24, 2026. Carma was a vibrant and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her, well-regarded for her fun-loving spirit and great sense of humor. A nurturing mother, she balanced an exceptional ability to be both loving and stern when necessary, showcasing a feisty determination and a stubborn streak that everyone came to admire.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Barker, whom she shared 28 years together; children, Andrew (Vanessa) Asbury and Chandler Barker, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. Her four grandchildren, Cayden, Carson, Arrah, and Axel, held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Carma was also a caring sister to her siblings, including Dallas (Anna) Asbury, Shane Asbury, Danya (Travis) Fields, and DJ (Jamie) Asbury. She maintained close connections with her extended family and friends, all of whom were touched by her warm soul and infectious laughter.
Throughout her life, Carma found joy in her hobbies, which included playing cards with friends, fishing, and above all, spending quality time with her family. In her free time, Carma could be found sharing a cup of coffee with her close family and friends, especially her mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Bonnie (Cole) Asbury, and her brothers, Travis Asbury and Gary Asbury.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 12:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 11:00AM until the time of service. Carma will be laid to rest at Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
Carma E. Barker will be remembered as a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a cherished friend who lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all.
