Carmelo Manuel "Chonka” Melendez Torres

This amazing child passed away on, July 29, 2025 at the age of 9.

He is survived by his loving mother Ismayra Torres; his father Jose Manuel Melendez; his brother Kevin Melendez; sisters Naisha Melendez, Neshma Melendez, Jo’Marie Melendez and Deliahny Melendez-Torres and amazing grandparents, aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his grandparents; Carmelo Torres, and Jose Manuel Melendez.

Carmelo “Chonka” was a phenomenal child, his character was unique in every way and his smile was always shining. He brightened any room as soon as he walked in, as the angel he was.

His innocence was sweet, his laugh was contagious, and his warm, big, strong hugs were everything anyone ever needed in a gloomy day. His LOVE was pure, as he himself was pure love. It is with a heavy heart, that our families welcome you to celebrate his life.

We will receive family and friends on Friday 08, 2025, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave Rochester NY 14626 from 11AM - 1PM. Service from 1PM - 2PM.
