It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Marie Bourgeois, a beloved wife, mother, Memere, and friend, who departed this life on October 10, 2024, at the age of 75.
Carmen was born on July 21, 1949, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Omer and Lillian (Boisvert) Gagne. She grew up in a loving home, where her strong faith and deep values were instilled in her from an early age. Carmen’s unwavering commitment to her Catholic faith shaped her life and the lives of those around her.
In a beautiful union that spanned 55 years, Carmen was married to her devoted husband, Normand Bourgeois. Together, they built a loving family, raising two sons, Steve and Brian. Carmen was preceded in death by her son Brian, and her sister Rita DesRuisseaux, both of whom she cherished dearly.
Carmen is survived by her son Steve and his wife Kristi Dwenger-Bourgeois, their children Max, Marguerite, Sebastian, and Isabel Bourgeois as well as Brian's sons Connor and Devin Bourgeois. All of her grandchildren carry a piece of Memere’s spirit, and she was immensely proud of their accomplishments and character.
Carmen is also survived by her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In the early 1990s, Carmen and Normand moved to Orlando, Florida, where she became an integral part of the community. Her passion for family, faith, and service shone brightly through her many contributions. Whether volunteering at local charities or nurturing her grandchildren, Carmen’s kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Carmen’s life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Services for Carmen are scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024. Viewing to be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Orlando Florida with the Funeral Mass immediately to follow at 11:00 AM.
