Carmen Luisa Medina, 93, of Gulfport, MS formerly of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico passed away on September 20, 2023 at Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 12, 1930 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to the late Fransico Figueroa & Carmen Maria Quinones.  Carmen is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Iris M. Lugo and Roshanara Cortes; son, Irineo “Junior” Luciano; and granddaughter, Leticia Torres.

Carmen was born in Puerto Rico, and then moved to New York where she met her loving husband.  From New York they moved back to Puerto Rico, and then settled here in the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the last 15 years.  Carmen enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  One of her favorite things was making majarete.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carmen is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jose Medina; sons, Luis (Maria) Torres, Jose E. Medina; grandchildren, Melissa L. Caquias, Robert Cortes, Luis Torres Jr., Teresa Torres, Melinda Torres, Wilcarlos Luciano, Ricky Luciano, Steve Luciano, Bryan Luciano, and Rafael Luciano; siblings, Luz (Angel) Figueroa, Aurea Figueroa, and Genoveva (Felix) Figueroa.  Carmen also leaves behind to cherish her memory 16 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Riemann Services Gulfport Chapel (11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport).  Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Riemann Services Gulfport Chapel with interment to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
