Carol Ann (Kuczka) Gentile, 76 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Lifecare Center of Auburn.
Carol was born in Worcester, on July 28, 1947, to John and Hattie (Tanona) Kuczka. She graduated from St. Mary's High School, Class of 1965 and later graduated from Salter Sec. as the Valedictorian of Class of 1967. Carol was the First Woman President of Jack Barry Little League Baseball and coached Softball at North High School for a couple seasons in the early 90s. She worked as a teacher’s aide for Worcester Public Schools for many years before she retired. Carol loved painting on wood and ceramics, reading, sewing, playing cards with friends and family, and watching the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics.
Carol’s husband of 43 years, Edward D. Gentile, Sr. passed away on March 1, 2013. She is survived by her two sons, Edward D. Gentile, Jr. of Worcester and Daniel Gentile and his wife Melissa of Hubbardston; two grandchildren, Hailey Gentile-Smith and Zaakary Gentile; a great grandson, Dawson Edward Smith. Besides her husband and parents, Carol is predeceased by a son, Robert “Bobby” Gentile.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 9-11 am followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
