Carol Barton Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 20, 2025.
Carol Barton, 81, of Shelby Township, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. Born on October 30, 1944, Carol lived a life rooted in family, simple joys, and unwavering love.

Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her beloved sons, Mike (Jill) Barton and Mark (Donna) Barton; her treasured grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything, Michael Barton, Sarah Barton, and Cortland Hurst; and her dear brother, Tom (Janet) Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Barton; her parents, Clyde and Opal Christian; and her sister, Joann Stewart.

Carol found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. She could often be found working on a puzzle, sometimes quietly on her own, other times surrounded by her grandchildren, guiding their hands and sharing in their laughter. She was an avid reader, especially of books about the Amish, and she never lost her love for classic Western television shows. Roses were her favorite flower, and their beauty mirrored the gentleness she brought into the lives around her. A spirited fan of wrestling and roller derby, Carol had a playful enthusiasm that surprised and delighted many. Just last year, she proudly attended a WWE event with her son and grandson, cheering with the same excitement she carried throughout her life.

Carol will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her family, and the special way she made every person feel loved. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, especially in the children and grandchildren whose lives she shaped so tenderly. Her family will cherish her memory always.

A private burial will be held for Carol at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
