Carol Bostian Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Lady Lake on Nov. 5, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Carol Lynn (Thompson) Bostian, born April 09, 1950, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Lady Lake, Florida, surrounded by love and laughter - just as she lived her life.
Carol was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, and loyal friend whose warmth, humor, and heart touched everyone she met. She had a gift for finding humor in ordinary moments and making sure others did too. She was the first to invite you for food and fellowship and would surely send home leftovers in old cottage cheese and sour cream containers! Food was her love language, and if she ever fed you, she loved you!
Whether sharing a story that had everyone in stitches, telling a joke, loaning from the Walmart cupboard in her home, or lending a helping hand without hesitation, Carol made the world brighter simply by being unapologetically herself!
Carol graduated from Fruitport High School in 1968 and maintained close friendships with many, including the special girls' club, The Fruitloops. She was active in the Fruitport Eagles Auxiliary for many years before retiring to Florida, where she enjoyed the warmth, new friends, and thrift shopping!
She took great pride in her years driving a school bus, where she not only safely carried countless children but also heroically saved a life - a testament to her courage, quick thinking, and boundless compassion.
Carol was larger than life - bold, funny, and fiercely loving. She could fill a room with laughter and light, and she would want everyone reading this to smile, share a joke, and remember the good times.
She is survived by her husband and partner in laughter, Robert Bostian, who shared so many beautiful years, adventures, and stories with her. Her son Thomas ("Precious") Haddock and "son-by-law" Dr. Brian Miller. Carol was a loving stepmom to William Bostian and Michalle and "son-by-law" Gene Lamb. She had nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a very special great niece and nephew. Carol's love for her family and her friends will remain an everlasting light in their hearts.
Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love she gave so freely. Carol wouldn't want tears, but a celebration - and perhaps a little mischief - in her honor.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Fruitport Eagles. A short service will begin at 2:00 p.m. A light luncheon will be provided by the Fruitloops as we gather to honor Carol's extraordinary life, share memories, and, most importantly, laugh together - just as she would have wanted.
We invite you to honor her generous spirit by sponsoring a family or adopting a child at Christmas! She always believed in spreading joy, especially to those who needed it most.
Carol also loved to gamble and always felt the slot machine was "going to hit," so in her memory, the next time you're at a casino, put a $20 bill into the machine, not because you will win, but because she would be upset if you didn't at least try!
