All Faiths Funeral Services North Austin LocationCarol Ann Bryson passed peacefully at home in the early hours of Sunday, August 31, 2025. She was surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own room, in her own bed.
Carol was born September 16, 1945 in Brady, Texas. She graduated from Brady High School in 1964, and lived in California and Pecos, Texas before settling in Brownwood, Texas. She was a loyal employee of the Brownwood Wal-Mart (store 813) for 25 years, finally retiring in 2010. In 2013 she moved to Austin, Texas to live with her daughter, Sara, and son-in-law, Jason, and to be closer to her son, Jamie.
After she retired, Carol spent her days reading Craig Johnson books, watching cooking shows, and counting down the days to a new season of basketball. She loved to get dressed up and go shopping, and she loved laughing and conversing over a meal with her loved ones, especially if Mexican food was on the menu. She wasn't really a dog person, but she spent her last years napping and snuggling with Sara and Jason's two dogs, Miley and Rupert. Carol was blessed to see the birth of her grandson, Vaylin, and to see him grow for seven years.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Bascum Crump (1907-1977) and Gladys Adel Crump (1912-1999); and her sister, Shirley George (1934-2009). She is survived by her children: Sara Casselberry of Manor, Texas and her husband, Jason; and Jamie Crump of Leander, Texas; her grandson, Vaylin Phoenix Reyna of Leander, Texas; her beloved nieces: Suzanne Spear of Round Rock, Texas and Georgan George Yantz of Burbank, California; and countless friends of her children spread across the country from Texas to Indiana who through the years called her “Mama Carol.”
A memorial service will be held at All Faiths Funeral Services on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 12:00 - 2:00.
