Carol S. Burnell

Carol S. (Blades) Burnell, 88, of Anderson, passed away on December 27, 2021 at Millers Merry Manor in Chesterfield. She was born on May 31, 1933 in Anderson to the late A. Earl and Georgia (Tillman) Blades. Carol graduated from Anderson High School in 1951. She retired from Indiana Bell/Ameritech/AT&T in 1995 after 35 years of service. Carol was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Anderson. She is survived by her children, Karen (John) Cler of Pendleton, Cara Brandenburg of Fishers, Casey (Candy) Brandenburg of Anderson; granddaughter, Katherine Cler, step- children, Tammy Burnell, Timothy Burnell, two step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel Burnell; stepmother, Ada Blades; sister Barbara Spaulding; half -brother, Larry Blades and stepson, Andy Burnell. Services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana 46013. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. Cremation will take place with a burial at a later date.
