URBANA – Carol Anne Campbell, 83 of Urbana, Ohio, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2025.
She was born on March 18, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Merrill Gale La Rue Burkhart and Martha Alice Burkhart.
Carol was a lifelong learner who earned her Bachelor's degree from Hiram College and her Master's degree from The Ohio State University. She taught Spanish at Springfield North, Kettering Fairmont, and Upper Arlington. She dedicated her career to teaching, enriched by time spent living in Madrid, Spain.
She married the love of her life, David Campbell, on June 10, 1967 in Urbana, Ohio. They later made their home in Worthington, Ohio, where they built a life grounded in love, faith, and lasting friendships. Carol was a devoted mother to her two sons, and her greatest joy was supporting her family.
Despite the challenges of Parkinson's disease in her later years, Carol's spirit and love for life never faded.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Patrick Burkhart; and a nephew.
Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, David; her sister, Susan (Gary) Zerkle; her sons, Jonathan (Tina) and Joshua (Jamie); her five grandchildren; two nephews; and many dear friends.
