Carol “Carl” Hugh Stallard, 88, of Hopewell, died at 8:40 P.M. on Monday, November 4, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison-House surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 12, 1937, in Richmond, Virginia, a son of the late Ernest and Fannie (Yates) Stallard. Carl worked for many years in the drywall industry. He was a natural tinkerer who enjoyed gardening, fishing, and fixing things around the house. Above all he cherished spending time with his family. Carl was married for 64 years to the love of his life, Joan. He was his wife’s primary care taker and lovingly cared for her in her later years. He was a devoted husband and father whose care and dedication will be missed by all that loved him.
He is survived by his children, Sharon (Tom) Cole, Kim (Jim) Curran, Jill Stallard, and Bradley Stallard; sixteen grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan (Scott) Stallard, who passed away December 8, 2019; and two sons, Keith Stallard and Barry Stallard.
A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
