Our precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Carol A. Christie, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at McLaren Bay Region. Carol was born on May 21, 1942, in Bay City to the late LeRoy and Viola (Thibault) Adair and is a graduate of Handy High School. On February 9, 1962, inside Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Carol married the absolute love of her life, Pete Christie, who passed away in 2020.
After 20 years, Carol retired from the Bay Medical Care Facility, where she treasured her time with the patients and their families, making the most of their stay. She was a bright light to many.
Carol had a zest for life and a love for all, especially children and animals. Family was everything. She was loved and adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure. Her beautiful smile, crazy sense of humor, and generosity will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Peter (Pam) Christie, Kelly (Mark) Duhaime, and Anthony Christie; grandchildren, Samantha (Travis) Duhaime/Adcock, Jake (Sara) Duhaime, Taylor (Christian & Ella Martis) Duhaime, Mark (Elise) Duhaime, Carly (Logan) Christie/Griffore and Cheyenne Christie; great-granddaughters, Joss, Adrienne, and Maggie Adcock; Carol Duhaime, and baby Christie on the way; her brothers, Albert and Phil (Bernie) Adair; brother-in law Roger (Diane) Christie, sister-in law Patti Christie and numerous loved nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her pets, Lilly, Lucy and Petey who brought her such comfort and joy.
Carol flew through the pearly gates to reunite with her husband Pete and granddaughter, Cassidy Christie who she missed so much along with her parents, sister June Waltman, in-laws, Clement E. and Madeline R. (Claes) Christie; and sister and brother-in-laws, Dick & Donna (Christie) Walkowiak, Bob & Darlene (Christie) Pelletier, Greg & Carla Christie and Mark Christie.
Carol's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kochunni Mohan for the extraordinary care and friendship he provided over the years and Lori LaPrairie for the special care and love given.
At the request of Carol, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at her home on the Kawkawlin River, Saturday, October 11th, from 2 - 6:00 pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial donation to the Cassidy Christie Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Bay Area Community Foundation, your local non-profit animal shelter, to support spaying and neutering of ferals, or a simple act of kindness.
