Carol Cicale passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on January 18, 2026, in
Holmdel, New Jersey. Born in
Brooklyn, New York, on January 8, 1938, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late Emilo and Rose (Santore) Croce. Her life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit, which touched the lives of countless friends and family.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Carol chose to continue her journey in the vibrant city she loved alongside her husband, the late Salvatore Cicale, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories before his passing in 2002. Their legacy of unending love and devoted partnership continued through their children, Linda Calia and her husband John, Sal J. Cicale and his wife Stephanie, and Deborah Pesce and her husband Vito.
Her life was further blessed with the joy of her ten grandchildren, Richard Calia and his wife Amanda, John Calia and his fiancée Danielle, Michael Calia and his wife Kristen, Paolo Pesce, John-Anthony Cicale, Nicholas Pesce, Salvatore Cicale, Natalie Rose Cicale, Luca Pesce, and Gianni Pesce. Though Carol passed before the arrival of her first great-grandson, Everett Cole Calia, the anticipation of her family circle expanding brought a spark of delight and excitement over the last few months.
Carol shared a special relationship with her brother Dennis Croce and his wife Phyllis, planning many family vacations together and their pop in visits at Cedar Village. She is remembered fondly by her brothers-in-law Anthony Cicale and his wife Mary Ann, and Joseph Cicale and his wife Lucia for the unwavering support and joy she brought to family gatherings. Aunt Carol will be missed by many adoring nieces and nephews who she always made to feel special.
Professionally, Carol was the respected office manager and later the proud owner of Star Brite Press Inc., a business she ran alongside her beloved husband Salvatore. Her work ethic and leadership were admired by all who worked alongside her, and her influence extended beyond the confines of the office.
As we bid farewell to a beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, we honor the memory of a woman who was truly the heart of her family, and we celebrate a life well-lived and the joy she brought to everyone she knew. Her spirit will continue to guide us, and her love will forever be the light that shines in our memories.
