Carol Anne Corning, 78, of Dixon, IL, was ushered into Heaven on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, while holding her daughters' hands. She worked for Donaldson Company in Dixon, for 31 years prior to her retirement.
Carol was born on May 19, 1947, in Dixon, the daughter of James and Illa (Willstead) Carrington. She married Roger Corning on February 4, 1967, in Maytown, IL. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2016. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. She knew who she was, unashamedly so, and her kindness and compassion for others guided her life.
Carol is survived by her children, Mary (Andy) Oros, Kelly (Roy) Lohse, Laura (Robert) Taylor, Douglas Corning; siblings, Linda (Scott) Campbell, John (Sandy) Carrington; brother-in-law, Steve Holbert; 11 grandchildren, Raymond Lohse, Marlee Oros, Amelia Lohse, Ben Oros, Adeline Lohse, Eli Lohse, Keanen Corning, Jacob Corning, Marci Green, Melody Bearden, and Megan Ziegenhorn; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Roger, of 49 years; her parents; one daughter, Marcella Corning; and one sister, Karen Holbert.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, with Fr. Bernard Sehr, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, with a Luncheon following at the Holloway Center.
Memorials may be directed to Loaves & Fishes. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
