I would periodically call or visit Aunt Carol throughout the years after moving to Austin where we would have some hearfelt talks and I could always count on her to make me laugh. Growing up, our families were always close and I remember her for connecting my sister and I to Mrs. Spencer for piano lessons, all the delicious meals she would bring to Thanksgiving dinners and other family events, playing the organ at First Baptist Church. I remember her pride in being married to my Uncle Charles, and doting upon all my cousins, and their children. Family was important to her and she talked about her parents often. Friends were also important to her, "I went with (so and so)..." she would tell me. Her and her red hair, as well as that laugh are going to stay in my mind forever. I´ll definitely remember her fondly snd she´ll be sorely missed.

Hey cousins! Do you remember when our parents were flashing lights by are cabin so we could see our way home to our cabin retreat when the Con Can river stopped flowing rapidly - and we were "Marco polo-ing" as we were walking back in the river with our floats!?! #goodtimes

Hopefully, hopefully Dad will share some of the photos here.
