Carol Jean Cushing

Carol was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Edna ( Currie ) Cushing formerly of Sudbury, MA, and Marlboro, VT., and deeply loved by her Sisters :
Nancy L Cushing Placido, and her husband Gerard, of Medfield, MA. Claudia J Cushing Lavoie, and her husband, Reginald, of Westborough, MA.
She was a doting Aunt to nieces and nephews: Nicole Desilets, and her husband Edward of Douglas, MA, Linnea Lavoie - Bernard, of Plymouth, MA, Alexandra Lavoie Shellenberger, and her husband, Paul of Oaklyn, NJ, Jan - Marie Placido of Framingham, MA Michele Placido, and his wife, Nancy, of Wesley Chapel, FL and Jeffery Placido, and his wife, Sonia, of Newtown, PA
Carol's contributions of caring, loving and educational guidance were then carried on through 14 Great Nieces and Nephews and now even the Great Greats. She was there for every event, every holiday and always ready to "take over," so Moms and Dads could take a break thereby creating a separate and special bond with each child.
And, of course, for a person such as Carol, one family was simply not enough! The Porter Family of Framingham was a constant presence in her life. With Howard as Chief Chef and Bottlewasher and Donna, her best friend since 5th grade as planner Extraordinaire, the Porters and Carol took wonderful trips, enjoyed countless meals, and played thousands of card games! Only problem was: Carol won way too often!
Born in Everett, MA, Carol was raised in Sudbury, MA. She attended Framingham State College and after starting her teaching career in Meriden, CT., Carol returned to her Hometown of Sudbury where she taught children for 36 years until she retired in 1996. We are often reminded of Carol's commitment and dedication to her students by the Sudbury community as she seems to be well remembered by those we meet along the way.
Carol will be so greatly missed by so very many.
We will be forever grateful and send our appreciation and thanks to the exceptional staff, every one of them, and Dr. Sheikh of Marlboro Hospital for their care and compassion in Carol's final journey.
