Carol Erna Augusta Jones

Carol Erna Augusta Jones, formally of Port Jefferson, NY, passed away September 6, 2025, at the age of 92, with her family by her side. Carol was married to Walter Everett Jones on November 10, 1951.

Carol is survived by her loving children Terry Sue Byce, Mark Steven Jones, and his wife, Ann Marie, and Victoria Jean Jones. Cherished grandmother of Cherilyn and her husband, Kristian, Amber, Bradley and his wife, Danielle, Peter and his wife, Lexi, Lindsey and her husband, Chase and Steven. Great grandmother of Kaitlyn, Abagail and her husband, Brandon, Rebecca, Kristian and Brian; great -great grandmother to Adaline and Harper and great- great grandmother to Declan and Owen.

Carol graduated Suffolk Community College with an associate's degree in 1980. She was Church Square Community "walker extraordinaire". She walked every day, rain, or shine. She would visit with all the neighbors' dogs while traversing the neighborhood. She never met a dog she didn't like. Having two cats of her own, she was a friend to all God's four legged and winged creatures. You could tell that by the checkbook and all her donations to animal rescue organizations.

The service celebrating Carol's life will be held Friday, September 12th at Little's Funeral home, 1515 S. Church Street, Smithfield VA 23430, at 7 pm, with a visitation starting at 5:00 pm . The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Isle of Wight County Humane Society, P.O. Box 273, Smithfield VA 23431.
