Carol Ann Gard, born on October 25, 1960, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her warmth and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, making her a cherished member of both her family and her circle of friends.
Carol was known for being a helpful soul, often shy and quiet until she became acquainted with those around her. Her loyalty and dedication were evident in the deep bonds she fostered with her loved ones, especially her sister Sandy.
Through the years, the Gard family traveled extensively across the Midwest to cheer on her brother Johnathan as he raced motocross for nearly a decade. During these adventures, Carol took great joy in keeping score of his laps and placements, vividly remembering those moments of support and enthusiasm.
A passionate lover of sports, Carol could be found cheering fervently for her favorite teams, including the LA Lakers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the University of Michigan Football. Her enthusiasm extended beyond mere fandom; it was a testament to her vibrant personality and commitment to the activities that brought her joy.
An animal lover at heart, Carol shared her life with several beloved pets, including her faithful dog Buddy and her two affectionate cats, Spots and Biscuit. The companionship of these animals enriched her life and filled her home with love.
Carol is survived by her sister Sandy and her brother Johnathan, along with extended family members and a close-knit group of friends who will remember her fondly. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Lucern McConnell, and her father, Harold Jack Gard.
In celebration of Carol’s life, a viewing will be held on November 13, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services in Marcellus, Michigan.
As we remember Carol Ann Gard, we honor her kindness, her love for sports, her passion for animals, and the unique bonds she created throughout her life. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
