Carol June Germuga, 88, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. She was a loving sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Carol was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School and spent her career with the Brighton Police Department as a Crossing Guard at Indian Landing Elementary School.
She had a passion for camping and baking, especially the family recipe for bread pudding with hard sauce. She also enjoyed attending the Royal Winter Fair and Santa Claus Parade in Toronto every year with her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and June Vick; husband, Joseph Germuga, Jr.; son, Joseph Germuga, III; sisters, Linda Vick, Georgia Weinhart, Peggy Costanzo,
Barbara Forward, Mary Ruth Richardson; brother, Gerard Vick; cousin, Joan Zornow May.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her son, Francis (Cynthia); daughter-in-law, Jane Henning (Vince Hegarty); grandchildren, Matthew Henning, Jennifer May,
Norah Hegarty and Claudia Germuga; great-grandson, Kirk Henning; brother, George (Janice) Vick; sisters, Catherine Reagan, Patricia (Maynard) Chilson; sister-in-law, Carol Vick along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at St. John's Home for their kindness and compassion while caring for Carol.
No calling hours. Interment Maplewood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Details will be shared and updated in the future.
