I recently got back from the summer in Illinois. When I didn't see Carol at the pool, I emailed her. And when I didn't get a response I asked about Carol at the Sonoran. And was so sad to hear of her passing.
I met Carol swimming at Desert Mountain. She had her favorite lane, always did the hot tub after, and her favorite locker. She was a much better swimmer than I--- my inspiration in the water. Cold, rain, wind did not stop her from swimming! Even last spring when she wasn't quite herself, she came and swam as much as she could---always with a smile and a positive attitude.
And conversations in the locker room after were always fun! I heard about all her travels with her husband and her grandkids and family! When asked one time about what she was up to for the day, I remember her saying she had to go buy Easter basket toys and candy. I even got a Meatball Minestrone soup recipe from her!
Carol was a beautiful human being. I am blessed to to have known her.
