Carol (Oglietti) Kave, 78, of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg. Born Jan. 16, 1947, in Latrobe, she was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Katherine (Novak) Oglietti. Carol was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. She had a Master of Education degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University as well as numerous specialized training classes. Carol had been employed for 41 years at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, where she had been a medical surgical staff nurse, a medical surgical relief head nurse, a nurse manager of intravenous therapy, a director of occupational medicine, and an educator. In those roles, she managed other nurses and was instrumental in implementing IV therapy. She performed CPR training for physicians and employees, education for new nursing employees, and various educational programs for employees. Carol also established Worker's Compensation panels for companies in the Westmoreland County area and intravenous therapy departments for the hospital. Carol was a member of the Board of Directors of the Westmoreland County American Heart Association and the Westmoreland Area Nurses Association and a docent at the Westmoreland Museum of Art. She loved to travel in Europe and the United States. Italy was her favorite destination, but she really enjoyed flying on zip lines in Oregon on a trip up the Columbia River. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Oglietti. Carol is survived by her husband of 26 years, Albert F. Kave Jr., of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. The Angels of Westmoreland Honor Guard will conduct a service at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, in the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Private interment will be at St. Clair Cemetery.
