Carol M. Kieffer, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 1, 2026. Carol was born on July 30, 1929 to Howard and Myrtle (Ott) Prine. On November 13, 1948 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bill Kieffer. Bill preceded her in death after almost 70 years of marriage in 2018. They moved to Appleton in 1986 and she was a food demonstrator at Copps foods for many years. Carol was a wonderful wife and mother. She was also known to be a great dancer, according to her husband, Bill. She was an active member of St Bernard's Parish and a member of the Crafty Ladies. Carol enjoyed her time at the Heritage and loved greeting new residents there and helping them get settled in. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them was always treasured.

Carol is survived by her children; Connie Hilber, Michael Kieffer, James (Nancy) Kieffer, Richard (Terri) Kieffer, Kari (Ted) Voissem, grandchildren; Rob (Dawn) Hilber, Jenny (Jim) Devenport, Scott (Tina) Hilber, Steven (Karina) Kieffer, Karl (Amanda) Kieffer, Adam (Brooke) Kieffer, Carrie Pommeranz, Nathan Pommeranz, Justin (Julie) Kieffer, Sarah Kieffer, Matthew Voissem, Molly Voissem and Morgan Voissem, 20 great grandchildren, son-in-law, Jeff Zondlo, a brother Bobby Prine, a sister-in-law, Bev Prine, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, a daughter Candace Zondlo, grandchildren; Ted Zondlo and Zachariah Pommeranz, a great granddaughter Madelyn Kieffer a daughter-in-law Linda Kieffer, and 8 siblings.

The funeral mass for Carol will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at church. Burial will be in the St Mary Cemetery in Appleton. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the community and staff at the Heritage, the caretakers from Right at Home and the nurses from Bristol Hospice.
