Voie Funeral & Cremation Care - IolaCarol Ann Lautenbach (nee Anderson), passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at age 76. Carol was born February 1, 1949, the first daughter of the late Harold and Elsie Anderson. She married James Lautenbach on August 14, 1971, at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt, WI.
She is survived by her husband James, her children Amy (Michael) and Andrew, her 4 grandchildren Eleanor, Alex, Leo, and Talcott, as well as her two sisters, Dona Polzin (Donn) and Janet Cikanek (Milan), and their children Matthew, Dustin, Cody, and Stephanie, who she loved as her own.
During their marriage, Carol and James lived in Iola, Scandinavia, Rhinelander, Clintonville, Stevens Point, and Rosholt, WI. She made friends in each place that she treasured. She taught at Rosholt Middle School for over 20 years and touched hundreds of lives. Carol loved the outdoors, rain or shine. She would tell us "The dishes will wait, the sun won't". Hiking, biking, swimming, puddle jumping, snow shoeing, and hundreds of campfires at campsites, the Stoltenberg farm, or her own backyard. She also loved snow skiing, both cross country and downhill. She loved skiing in northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula but especially enjoyed the many adventures downhill skiing in Colorado. Boating at Lake Tomahawk was her favorite way to spend a summer day, especially with her kids and grandkids.
A Gathering of family of friends will be held for Carol at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10 AM - 11:45 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 Noon. The Reverend Dale Wilson will officiate. Interment of cremains will take place next to her parents at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Rosholt.
