On January 4, 2025, Carol Ann Lewis (Jarvis) passed peacefully with friends around her. Carol was born April 27, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Andrew and Helen Jarvis (Bakius).
Carol was married on December 30, 1972, to Charles Robert (Bob) E Lewis.
Carol earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University in 1976.
She worked at Speedway Public Library for 30 years. She became the Children’s Librarian in January of 1982, until she retired in April of 2011. She completed her master’s in library science at Indiana University while working at the library.
Carol loved her time working at the library. She loved the kids and all the fun activities she organized over the years.
Carol was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles Robert (Bob) E Lewis.
A Memorial Service is planned for January 20, 2025 at 2pm Visitation from 1:30-2pm Location at City View Church 275 Shiloh Crossing Drive, Avon Indiana.
The family wishes to warmly thank all the staff of Alpha Home for their care and attention to Carol this past 2 years and to Bob before his passing. Carol spoke highly of everyone she encountered at the Nursing home.
Carol was an avid sports fan of the Colts and Pacers. She loved puzzles and reading books. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Speedway Public Library or your local public library.
