Carol L. Lind

Carol (Orloff) Lind, 79, of Avon, formerly of Ardsley, NY, passed away on Sunday evening, August 20, 2017, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, George; children Paulette Ryder and her husband Steve, Lawrence Lind and his wife Lisa, and Jodi Levine and her husband Kenny. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Miriam, Deanna, Ben, Paige, Liam, Peter, Jordan, and Rachel, as well as great-grandchild Elias. She was born September 21, 1937 in New York, and resided in the Bronx and Westchester before moving up to Connecticut later in life. She was continually amazed at the kindness of the people she encountered in Connecticut and built friendships that were deeply meaningful to her. She enjoyed playing mahjong, throwing luncheons for her friends, and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 22 at the Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson St., Avon, CT. Shivah will be held immediately following at the home of Kenny and Jodi Levine at 5 Michelle Lane, Avon, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s honor may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital, 95 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105. The Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center of Avon is in care of the arrangements.
