Carol Lux, age 76, of Miles City, formerly of Chinook

April 24, 1949 – October 4, 2025

Carol Ann Lux, age 76, of Chinook, MT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Cremation has taken place, and in keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held-she wanted no fuss. At a later date, Carol will be floated down the Missouri River at Virgelle, MT, a place she cherished and spent many happy days with her family growing up.

Carol lived in Chinook her entire life until about four years ago, when health challenges made it clear she needed to be closer to family. She moved to Miles City to be near her daughter and became a resident at Holy Rosary Residential Living. There, she found a new home filled with friendship, laughter, and love. She touched countless lives-residents, staff, and especially her dear friend, Steve Lawson. In her final days, stories of her kindness, humor, and grit were shared by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Mabel Kaufman; her sisters, Alice and Eudora; her brother, Vernon; and her granddaughter, Sofia Cusimano.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Robin (Jim) Cusimano of Miles City, MT, and their children Tyson of Las Vegas, NV; Saige of Bismarck, ND; Nick and Max of Miles City, MT; as well as her son, Ryan Lux of Gillette, WY.

Carol will be remembered as vibrant, spunky, and unafraid to tell it like it was. She was a fighter through every health battle-brave, determined, and fiercely protective of those she loved. Even in her final moments, she faced death as she faced life: head-on, with courage and strength, making sure her family was okay first.

She is deeply loved and greatly missed.
