Carol L Mandato

Carol Lynn Mandato (nee Mapes), age 57, went to be with Lord on the evening of November 25th 2021. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Gates Mills while holding her husband's hand and surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on November 7th, 1964 in Cleveland, OH to Robert (dec) and Jeanne Mapes. She married her beloved husband Kevin December 15, 1990. Loving mother of Dominic (Brandy), Bianca, Angelo, Maria and Jenna Mandato. Devoted grandmother of Roman. Dearest sister of Kim Slattery (Jim), Kathy Clarke (Donald), Craig Mapes (Sheila) and Bobby Mapes (Vicky). Daughter-in-law of Albert and Betty Mandato (both deceased). Sister-in-law of Ed Mandato and Keith "Michael" Mandato (both deceased). Dear aunt of many. Carol graduated from Eastlake North High School. Carol was a beautiful wife, loving mother, and inspiration to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. From a young age, Carol knew that her calling was to someday be a mother to a large family of children. By the grace of God, she and her husband fulfilled that dream having five beautiful children of their own. She was blessed to be able to stay at home and raise them, creating an endless amount of wonderful memories in the process. Anyone who knew Carol was better for it. Her presence could turn the worst days into those filled with laughter, love and warmth. And her energy and positivity shined with the brightest of light in even the darkest of rooms. She enjoyed shopping with her girls, watching her Cleveland sports teams with her boys, and being a wonderfully loving and caring grandmother. She also had a passion for reading, Starbucks coffee and adding to her tattoos. But her favorite times came in the moments shared with her best friend, her rock, and her one and only true love, Kevin. Whether taking trips, cooking together, or sitting out on the veranda reflecting on the beautiful life they built, he lit up her world and made her feel like the luckiest woman alive. She will be dearly missed but her memory and personality will shine on through her children and husband who will carry on her memory every day. Interment Knollwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Thursday at Holy Rosary Church, 12021 Mayfield Rd, Cleveland.
