Carol graduated from Villa Maria Academy and before retirement worked at Hallmark. She was always on the move enjoying live music including 8 Great Tuesdays, going downtown, and traveling all over the world including Florida, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, and the Olympics. Carol loved St. Patrick's Day, cooking, Steeler's football and traveling on the weekends. She was the most attentive mother who then became "Nana" with the birth of her grandchildren. Being a grandmother gave her the most joy.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosemary, Shirley, Nancy, and Cindy.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent "Vince" McElhinny; a son, Shaun McElhinny; two daughters, Ashley Fedor, husband Josh, and Heidi McElhinny; four grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack, Isla, and Cecila.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. Condolences may be expressed at www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com
