Carol Anne Tile McGuire

Mrs. Carol Anne Tile McGuire, 85, of Jamestown, NC, passed away at her home on June 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. Carol was born on December 15, 1939, in Butte, MT. A "Celebration Of Life" Memorial Service to celebrate Carol's life will be conducted on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Jamestown United Methodist Church (UMC), Jamestown, NC, with Reverends Wendy Barnes and Carol Carkin officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Carol, who was lovingly called "Nanny", grew up in Washington State. She lived there until she met and married Howard Earl McGuire, a U.S. Navy sailor. During Howard's 20 Year Navy career, Carol lived in several states across the U.S. After Howard retired from military service, they settled in Jamestown, NC.

Carol was a devout Christian and of the Methodist faith. She was an active member with Oakdale UMC in Jamestown for several years prior to transferring her membership to Jamestown UMC. While at Oakdale UMC, Carol was involved with the Rabbit Quarter Homeless Feeding Ministry in High Point and also served at the High Point homeless shelter. Carol served in many leadership positions on several church committees to include Treasurer, Stephen Minister, and Young At Heart. At Jamestown UMC, Carol was a leader for the "Grief Share" program and a participant of the Monday Lunch Bunch group.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was a Hospice volunteer and a recipient of the coveted "Hospice Volunteer Of The Year" award. She was a trusted election official and worked the polls for several State and National elections. Carol was a valued member of the local chapter of the American Business Woman's Association and was duly recognized on many occasions for her excellent business acumen, passionate entrepreneurial spirit, tireless dedication, and successful ownership of several small businesses. Carol owned the Children's Closet clothing store and the Purple Cow Ice Cream Company in Jamestown.

Carol loved being with her family. She liked camping, traveling, and spending time in the mountains and at the beach. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, listening to country music, and playing card games. Carol delighted in going to church and rejoiced in reading her Bible daily. She liked to sew and was dedicated to quilting a blanket for every newborn child in her family. She also liked to bake and was frequently asked to make delicious cookies, pies, and specialty decorated cakes. Carol was a great cook and often invited people over to her house for food and fellowship. Carol revered family gatherings as a special and cherished blessing in her life. Her favorite holiday was Christmas.

Carol was predeceased by her husband, a daughter, her parents, two sisters, and a brother. She is survived by her four children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations and contributions be made in memory of Carol "Nanny" McGuire to one of the following organizations: Hospice Of High Point, American Heart Association, and Jamestown UMC.

I remember always being included as a member of the family when at Oakdale UMC. Carol never stopped serving and loving others into God's Kingdom. I look forward to worshipping with her someday soon in heaven.

My condolences to all of Carol's family and friends. My heart goes out to you. She loved her family so, so very much. I'm one of Tamara's friends, that's how I came to know Carol, she touched my life and my heart. She made me feel like I was important and wanted to lighten my load with her humor. She sure could make me laugh, I'll miss that. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and loved people too, I know, I felt it whenever we shared time together. What a beauty she was, I know she's smiling at us right now. She has a place in my heart always. God has the victory, He gained a beautiful angel
Peace be with you all.

Nanny. Words have failed me in the last 3 weeks and they continue to do so with our loss of you. I know you are up in Heaven with Papa, Mom, Dad, and your siblings, playing rummy, spades, and dominoes. I will miss you and my heart will always ache for just one more hug, but im glad I got what I could.
