CHITTENANGO- Carol J. Mondi, age 79, of Bailey Street passed away on Tuesday Morning October 22, 2024 in her home.
Carol was born on Christmas of 1944 in Herkimer a daughter to the late Zigmont and Helen Hugick Peplinski. She was raised and educated in Van Hornesville and a graduate of Van Hornesville High School. At one time she was married to David Dolhun until his passing. She was a supervisor at the New York State Workman's Compensation Board in Syracuse.
She was a huge fan of British television especially Downton Abbey. She enjoyed many mini-series on tv and loved Law and Order. Carol always enjoyed a good book and spent lots of time doing crosswords puzzles. One of her favorite things was to travel, she enjoyed going on trips and at times she would take her grandchildren with her.
Surviving are a son Jeff Dolhun and his wife Doreen of Richfield Springs a daughter Jessica Dolhun and daughter-in-law Colleen of Chittenango, four grandchildren Darlene, Jacob, Deirdre and Erin and great-grandson Archer, she is also survived by four brothers; Bernie Peplinski and his wife Carol of Cedarville, Michael Peplinski and his wife Eleanor of Richfield Springs, Robert Peplinski of Mohawk, Edward Peplinski and his wife Dorayne of Richfield Springs, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband David, she was preceded in death by a brother William.
Calling Hours will be on Wednesday from 11:00am-1:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory with donations to The American Lung Association. envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
