Carol Moss Obituary

On January 14, 2026, Carol Moss, 83, gained her heavenly wings.

Her surviving family misses her deeply - husband, Robert Moss; children, Sara Moss, Eric Moss, Ellen (Scott) Conway; brother, Robert (Priscilla) Riley Jr; and grandchildren, Austin Conway, Peyton Conway, Kloey Moss and Riley Moss.

Carol lived life on her terms, broke glass ceilings and loved her family and friends deeply.

Born in Bradford, she was the daughter of Robert and Marie Riley.

Carol and her brother loved spending time at their grandparents' farm in Sugar Run and getting into shenanigans with their co-conspirator cousins.

Carol graduated from the Alfred Tech horticulture program and then headed to California and earned a degree in Accounting from Golden Gate University.

Destiny put her work desk next to a handsome southern gentleman who became the love of her life. Carol and Robert were married 57 years.

From San Francisco, Carol and Robert embarked on their first adventure, moving to American Samoa for four years where Carol fell in love with sailing Hobie Cats and was the Commodore of the local yacht club.

In 1980 they moved to Bradford, and Carol made dear friendships with the Derrick City "Coffee Ladies" and she served the community in many ways, including the Bradford Area School Board.

In 1993, Carol and Robert moved to Brookville where she earned her Master Gardener certification, co-founded the Common Cents investment club, joined the Brookville Garden Club and delighted in winning quarters while playing bridge with the ladies.

Once officially kid-free, Carol and Robert roamed the world to 20-plus countries on six continents.

In her final decades, Carol found her center at home, tending her garden, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying quiet nights with her favorite person, Robert.

In her honor, plant something new, pour a good cup of coffee and share a smile with those around you.

All arrangements have been held privately for the family and have been entrusted to the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, located at 345 Main Street in Brookville.
