Carol Sue Pickler, formerly known as Carol Sue Fankhauser, was born on February 20, 1965, in Canton, Ohio. She passed away peacefully at her home on September 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity that touched the hearts of many.
A nurturing mother, Carol cherished her time spent with her sons, Allen (Sarah) Fankhauser and Noah Fankhauser. As a beloved grandmother, she took great pride in her grandchildren: Stacey, Olivia, and Ryan, who brought immense joy to her life. Carol was also a devoted daughter to her parents, Eugene Fankhauser and Connie Long. Surrounded by her loving family, Carol found her greatest happiness in shared moments, laughter, and the bonds they created together.
Carol had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. She loved to craft and often spent leisurely weekends exploring flea markets, where she would seek out unique treasures. Her passion for crafting was matched only by her love of fashion, particularly dresses, which showcased her radiant spirit. Carol also had a fondness for dogs and owls, often finding inspiration in their beauty and grace.
A member of Travis Chapel Church, Carol found a sense of community and comfort in her faith, which further enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jason Pickler, her sons, Allen (Sarah) and Noah; her brothers, Daniel Shepherd, Matthew Shepherd, Larry Shepherd Jr., and Buddy Fankhauser; her grandchildren, Stacey, Olivia, and Ryan; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Karen Calhoun; and her parents, Eugene Fankhauser and Connie Long. She was predeceased by her grandchild, Mason.
In accordance with her wishes, Carol will be cremated, and currently, there are no services planned. As we remember Carol Sue Pickler, we celebrate her life filled with love, creativity, and warmth, which will continue to inspire all who knew her.
