Carol Pierce-Martin Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory from Dec. 30, 2025 to Jan. 1, 2026.
Carol Ann Pierce-Martin, a beacon of joy and laughter, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 86 in La Porte.
Born on September 24, 1939, in Michigan City, to Carl and Theresa (Paskiet) Dombrowsky.
In Cozumel, Mexico, on February 19, 2000, she married Tony Martin, who survives.
A proud graduate of Elston High School's class of 1958, Carol remained an active member of the class reunion committee, cherishing the lifelong friendships she nurtured over the years. She was a cashier at K&M Foods for many years in Michigan City.
Carol's life was filled with meaningful moments shaped by her love for family and the many adventures she shared with her husband, Tony. Together, they traveled often, especially enjoying time on the beaches of the Caribbean, where they made lasting memories side by side. Carol loved to travel, but she also found happiness in simple pleasures in her backyard -feeling the sun on her face, with the Chicago Cubs game on the radio or playing Skibo with her husband, Tony, (and always yelling "you cheated!) - all with a cold Coors Light in hand.
Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she spoiled them with the same fervor with which she lived her life. Her love for her grandchildren was a radiant force, inspiring joy and creating cherished memories that will be held close to their hearts forever. Carol's presence at family gatherings was a guarantee of laughter and merriment, her spirit elevating every holiday celebration. Carol's infectious laugh left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
As the sun sets on Carol's remarkable life, we remember a woman whose laughter was a gift, whose love was a treasure, and whose presence was a blessing. Her legacy is one of joy, love, and the enduring power of laughter. Carol's memory will continue to shine brightly, like the sun she so adored, in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Carol is survived by her husband Tony; children, Scott (Tina) Pierce, Beth (Tom) Piotrowski, Amy Jo (John Unglauble) Pierce; step-children, Robert (Kerri) Martin, and Peter (Diane) Martin; siblings, Ron (Dottie) Dombrowsky, and Darlene Pahl; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Wozniak, Matthew (Danika) Piotrowski, Noah Pierce, and Sarah Pierce; step-grandchildren, Jakob Martin and Welsey Martin; and first great-grandchild, Beau Wozniak; she was also loved by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Pierce; siblings, Geraldine (Gerri) Richards, and Richard Dombrowski.
