Carol Pirrotta Obituary

Washington Township, N.J. Carol E. (Beifuss) Pirrotta of Washington Township, NJ, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer. Carol was born and raised in Camden, NJ, and joins her parents, John and Estella Beifuss, and her brother, John Beifuss Jr., in heaven. Carol is survived by her husband of 49 years, Andrew Pirrotta, their sons and their families: Aaron, his wife Kelsey and their daughters Lena and Lucia; David, his wife Erin, and their children Grant, Zachary, and Margaret. Carol graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS and Douglass College (1970) at Rutgers University earning scholarships and paying her own way through despite traditional values. Carol worked at Camden Social Services where she met Andy before taking on the Director role in 1985 at the Gloucester County Board of Social Services and led that organization for 23 years. She strived to get all residents the help they needed and in retirement continued to find ways to help others even as as she raised her sons and arranged care for her mother and brother. She led her life treating everyone with respect and dignity. One way Carol showed her love for family was through food. Food was love. She enjoyed cooking big holiday dinners and providing a steady supply of chocolate and desserts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am in the McGuiness Funeral Home - Sewell, 573 Egg Harbor Road. Funeral Service will begin at 11 am followed by interment in Wenonah Cemetery, Mantua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, Susan G Komen organization, or another of your choosing. share the memories … share love … ShareLife at www.mcgfuneral.com McGuinness Funeral Home 573 Egg Harbor Road Sewell NJ 08080 (856) 845-0888

Andy, my condolences to you and your family. I will always remember how you and Carol shared lunchtimes together and walked around hand in hand. I respected and envied that. I know you will miss her terribly but you will be with her again in heaven.
