OBITUARY

Carol Ann Rose of Crystal City, MO passed from this life and entered Heaven’s gates on January 24, 2026, having reached the age of ninety years, six months and one day. Carol was born in St. Louis, MO on July 23, 1935, and was the youngest of six children to Theodore Maximillion Schmeer and Emma Caroline Schmeer nee Forthman. On July 23, 1983 she was united in marriage to John Edwin Rose and their families were joined as one.

Carol is survived by five children, Wayne Glier of Festus, MO, Lynn Schwalbert of DeSoto, MO, Tina Barron of Hillsboro, MO, Paula Davis and husband, Mitchell, of Dittmer, MO and Denna Roland of Arnold, MO; by her grandchildren, Selena Lambrich-Johnson, Justin Lambrich, Michael Schwalbert, Sarah Muse, Albert Roland, Michelle McConochie, Brittany Young, Krista Henderson, Brandy Mahan and Kourtney Bowen; by twenty great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Emma Schmeer; by her husband, John Rose; by one daughter, Pamela Rose; by her son-in-law, Roger Schwalbert; and by her siblings, Paul Schmeer, Thelma McKeever, Theodore Schmeer, Richard Schmeer and Doris Kase.

She had a zest for life, never met a stranger and always had words of encouragement for others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus and active in several activities there. Carol loved the Lord and didn’t hesitate to share her faith. Well known for placing religious tracts in her Christmas cards and handing out literature and bibles at every opportunity. She loved spending time deer hunting when she was still able and always wanted to know when others were successful in their hunts. Her family and friends will miss her laughter, pecan muffins and the many jokes she was famous for telling to anyone that would listen.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 2, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Carey Jones officiating. Interment will be in Green Mound Cemetery in St. Clair, MO.
