Carol L. Russell

1945 - 2023

Carol L. Russell (nee: Courts), of North Canton, age 77, passed away on April 10, 2023.Carol was born June 24, 1945 in Lorain, OH to John and Gwendolyn Corts. Carol was a graduate of Amherst High School with the class of 1963.Carol met her husband John, from New Philadelphia, OH, in the fall of 1963, while both were freshmen at Malone (College) University. They married on December 18, 1966. She taught for 18 years at Massillon Christian School, and continued her working career at Malone University. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and a faithful "Prayer Warrior." She was also a faithful member of the Canton Baptist Temple.She was preceded in death by her parents John and Gwendolyn Corts (Thomas).She is survived by her husband of 56 years John Russell; children Carrie (Greg) May and John M. (Darci) Russell; grandchildren Amanda (Ronnie) Minnick, Ryan (Rachel) May, Daniel May, Amara Russell, and Silas Russell; great-grandchildren Jack Minnick, Beverly May, and Evelyn May; and sister Beverly Corts.A Celebration of Life for Carol will be held this Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Open Door's Lorain campus, 1121 Tower Blvd, Lorain, OH 44052.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Carol Russell to Camp CHOF care of Canton Baptist Temple.
