Carol Anderson Schneck passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the Life Care Center in
Hendersonville, North Carolina, at the age of 85. Born on April 11, 1940, in Evanston, Illinois, Carol lived a life marked by resilience, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Carol began raising four children at the age of 18, always making sure they were fed, groomed, and much more. Her children would always say that "she was a truly amazing mom." Carol then began her career with humble roots as a waitress at Bill's Pub, showcasing her dedication and work ethic. Through perseverance and vision, she later became the owner and operator of Movie and Pawn Stores, where she left an indelible mark on her community through her service and leadership.
A former resident of Mundelein, Illinois, before settling in Hendersonville, Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially gardening. Her home was always surrounded by vibrant blooms and flourishing plants, symbolizing her nurturing spirit. Additionally, Carol held a deep passion for volunteering, dedicating much of her time to Hospice, where her compassion and care touched many lives. She also had a love for dogs and was known for collecting giraffes.
As a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hendersonville, Carol's faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and guidance.
Carol is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Clarence and Loretta Anderson, her dear sister, Sandra (Carl) Todd, and her son-in-law, Mike. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her surviving family: her husband of 39 years, Dennis Schneck; her daughters, Terri, Laurie (Alan), and Jean (Paul); her step-daughter, Renee (Michael); her son, George; her step-sons, Jimmy and Steve; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Val (Carl); and several nieces and nephews. Carol's family will forever cherish the memories and love she imparted to them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Following the service, Carol will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.
Those wishing to honor Carol's memory are encouraged to make memorial contributions to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
