Carol SCOTT Obituary

SCOTT - Carol E.
Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 19, 1945, a daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy (Ellis) Scott, Sr. Ms. Scott was a graduate of Niagara Falls High, University of Rochester, University of Pennsylvania and further studies at Niagara University. At the age of three, Carol contracted polio and spent years in Crippled Children's Guild relearning to walk. She had a love of sports and played softball for several leagues in the west. Carol was a talented woman who strived for perfection in all of her work, whether it be carpentry, plumbing or writing and photography. She was a teacher, business statistician and worked for the Health and Welfare Council in Philadelphia. In Tucson, she was a victims advocate for women in crisis and helped develop the first Women's Center. She was also a crew leader for one of the first weatherization programs for low income homeowners. She traveled throughout the country and Mexico camping, swimming and making friends wherever she went. A deep love and commitment to her mother brought her back to Niagara Falls. Carol was kind and caring and touched the hearts of many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her companion of 46 years, Julia Lauchner, brother Fred Scott, Jr., niece Charol Scott, cousins and many friends. Private services will be held at the wishes of her family. In lieu off flowers, donate to your local food bank. Visit www.rhoneyfuneralhome.com for guest register.
