Carol J. Scruton

Carol J. Scruton, age 80, of Appleton, died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born November 12, 1943 in New London, daughter of Herbert and Lila (Beyer) Piechocki.
Carol attended Seymour Union High School. She was an Apartment Manager for Woodmere and West Weiland Apartments. She did private in home care for the elderly. She worked for Appleton Medical Center as a Personal Appointment Coordinator.
Carol was very well known for her talent of decorating. Her homes and yards each and every holiday was well decorated and lighted. She had a love for holidays and loved cooking and baking holiday meals. She was known as a Cookie Queen for her decorated iced cut out cookies.
Carol was an avid Packers fan. Michael T. Martell drew the muskie, walleye and Christmas tree for our headstone at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
She is survived by son, Jeffery M. Scruton, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Robin Scruton; grandsons, Jeffery Jr., Luke and Jake Scruton; granddaughters; Mikayla and Julia Scruton and great grandson Kyle Scruton. She is further survived by her sisters; Rhona Anton, Barbara Holeton and Connie Stellmacher; Sisters-in-law; Mary (Doug) Peart, Anne Martell, Liz (Randy) LePak, Sue (Jon) Drews and Brothers-in-law; Philip, John, Robert Martell. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, as well as other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael T. Martell; son, Richard (Rick) Scruton Jr.; brother-in-law, Rick Smith, Joe Holeton, and Bill Anton; mother and father, Herbert and Lila Piechocki; brothers, Roland and Harland Piechocki; sister, Sharon Piechocki; father and mother-in-law, John and Florence Martell and brother-in-law, James Martell.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Huff officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
A special thank you to sister, Rhona Anton who helped take me for appointments when I couldn't drive. She called every morning and evening checking on me. She visited every week. Her love and compassion was very much appreciated.
