It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol Ann Slater, age 75, who passed on July 27, 2023. Born in Camden, Carol was raised in West Deptford and graduated from West Deptford High School in 1966. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Glassboro State College. Carol began her career teaching music for the NJ School System for 9 years. She later started her own career giving private lessons, and eventually worked for the Arts of the Dance in Vineland, teaching the Suzuki music method. Carol loved to travel abroad and in her travels, made many beloved friends on her journeys. Everyone always loved to hear about her travels and life experiences along the way. Carol's last journey, being in Tallwoods Care Center, was adored by all and again, loved her stories that she would tell on a daily basis.
Carol is predeceased by her parents, B. Elaine (Hammond) and Arnold W. Slater and her niece, Veronica Lynn Udzinski.
She is survived by her sisters K. Lee Slater (Paul), Gail Slater-Warntz (Pam), and Doris Sidiropoulos (Jimmy). She is also survived by a nephew, Dimitri Sidiropoulos (Danielle), nieces Stephanie Hullender, Kristie O'Brien (Terry) and Alexis Aprilakis (George). Carol helped raise her great nieces and nephew, Brooke Rathof, Tyler Rathof (Samantha), and Julia Udzinski, Carol had many other great nieces and nephews, along with many great great nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family after 10 am on Saturday August 5, 2023 in the Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Ave, Woodbury, NJ. Memorial Service will be at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to NJ State Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 153 Halsey St, 6th floor, Newark, NJ 07102.
