Carol Lynne Slater, age 81, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025 at her home. She was born April 17, 1944 in Hart, MI to Harry E. and Ione B. (Johnson) Lacy, Jr. Carol married George R. Slater on September 18, 1970 in Holton, MI and he survives her. Carol worked as a waitress for Bob Evans Restaurant on Apple Ave for 16 years and retired in 2000. She attended Christ Church and had been a Sunday School Teacher for Faith Temple Church. Carol volunteered many years for TCT. Carol was a gifted homemaker, gardner and had a warm heart for everyone often helping anyone in need. Carol especially loved spending time with her grandkids and was the spark of the family. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, George Slater; 5 children, Laura (Wayne) Bunnell, George (Cindy) Slater, Jr., Les (Leigh) VanWyhe, Lee (Connie) VanWyhe, Diane (Tom) Fetterhoff; 3 generations of grandchildren; and 1 brother, Rick (Teresa) Lacy. She was preceded in death by 3 children, Tony Isaac Bont, Jeannie Marie Miel, PFC Joshua R. "KK" Slater; her parents; and 1 brother, Butch Lacy. In honoring Carol's wishes, private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Christ Church.
